The Zamlat al-Mahr well_1 has been inserted into the network with a capacity of 250 000 m3 / day, while drilling is ongoing in Zamlat al-Mahr field. The Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources, Eng. Bassam Toumeh, put the well Zamla Al-Mahr _1 located 40 km west of Palmyra, in production initially to the network by 2.7 km long side link to Al Shaer line and Ebla Plant, till the completion of work on the main line which links Zamlat Al-Mahr field with Sharifa field and South Middle Region Gas Plant , with 30 km long and 10 inches diameter, in order to insert the new gas into the network at the maximum speed. The Minister has toured the drilling sites at Zamlat Al-Mahr_2 well where Urlmach_3 the electric drill is working, and the depth has reached about 2000 m, as it is expected to reach the productive layer within a short period. He has also inspected the drilling site at Zamlat al-Mahr_3 where the National_2 rig is working. The drilling depth has reached 170 m; the production of this new field is expected to exceed half a million m3 by the end of this year, while work is ongoing to complete the exploration of this field. Zamlat al-Muhr field was discovered at the end of 2021 as the first gas field before the war.
